What does your daily skincare regimen look like? What are the products you’re using? Are you using the right ones that your skin truly needs? Are you following the correct lineup on using the right skincare products? Yes, so many questions, right?
If you are still unsure on what and how to do the best skin care regimen for you, take note of these basic tips that can help you achieve that smooth, glowing skin.
Many would say to do all these steps or use all these products. But piling up skincare products on your face isn’t really the solution. Know your skin type, the appropriate products for your age, check on tested and recommended products in the market. Your skin’s needs are particular to you and will be different from others.
So learn what your skin requires so you can properly address them as needed. For instance, oily-prone skin requires a different moisturizer than a dry one.
There are only three basic steps on a skincare regimen. Yes, not 10 or more. These steps are cleansing, treating, and moisturizing. Gentle cleansers are the best products for cleaning the face. Don’t overdo cleansing though and avoid harsh products. You can use a favored toner next if you have any, but this is not really a must.
For oily or acne-prone skin, use a toner with the salicylic acid ingredient. Next is the treating phase. In this stage, you use creams and serums that are full of great skincare elements like retinol, Vitamin C, AHA, and such. Then, you can do the next stage of moisturization.
Moisturizing involves hydrating the skin and strengthening its barriers. For daytime use, it’s best to use a lighter product so it gets absorbed quickly. For oily skin, for example, you may want to use a gel-type moisturizer or the newer type in the market called whipped moisturizers.
These type of moisturizers are absorbed by the skin quickly and provides a matte finish. Lastly, at least for day time regimen, top it off with your sunscreen product.
